Learn to carve your very own Ruddy Duck decoy from award winning carvers John Frye, Bill Palmer, Harry Williams, Ross Gage and Richard Whittom.
This three day course will teach you the classic North American art of decoy carving. The head and tail will be carved from white pine while the body, from a special watertight bonded cork.
The decoy will be fitted with glass eyes, ballasted keel and painted with oil colours to represent a Greater Scaup. Self-righting, the decoy is designed to float like a duck on the big, often rough, water of Manitoba lakes.
There will be a informational session at the beginning of the course to learn about Ruddy Duck biology and hunting tips.
Coffee and light snacks will be provided.
Course dates are: March 05,12,19.2017
