The MWF would like to take this opportunity again to thank the clubs and members who attended our 81st Annual General Meeting on April 26th, and to all those who have stepped up to support our “Access for All” campaign. This year’s AGM served as a powerful reminder of what makes our organization so unique—and how essential our clubs and members are to the Federation’s success. At a time when our lifestyles, traditions, and access to natural spaces face unprecedented challenges, our club’s role in advancing our advocacy work at the local level is more critical than ever.
During the AGM, we reflected on the Federation’s direction over the past eight months—a period that has tested our resilience and resolve and we delivered a full “Access for All” Town Hall Meeting, to invite respectful dialogue around these issues. These discussions reaffirmed the strength of our united voice and the influence we can wield when we stand together. In 2025 we anticipate the need to ramp up our Access for All campaign with increased legal fees, advocacy work in Manitoba and in Ottawa, advanced communications, and the continuation of Town Hall Meetings. Our clubs and partners stepped up again, raising just over $60,000 towards our campaign goals!
The financial support we’ve received from participating clubs has been incredibly valuable. Equally important, many clubs have helped us connect with key community leaders, hosted Town Hall Meetings, mobilized local support, and shared vital insights that have informed our efforts. Every contribution strengthens our coalition, advances our mission, and empowers us to continue driving positive change. Stay tuned for more details on the AGM in the next issue of our Outdoor Canada West magazine.
