As we approach the end of another eventful year, MWF would like to extend our sincere best wishes to you and your families for a joyful holiday season and a healthy, happy New Year.
This time of year offers a meaningful opportunity to pause and reflect on the strength of our clubs, the dedication of our members, and the partnerships made possible through your continued membership and generous support. These relationships are the foundation of our shared work and our ongoing success.
The past year has been particularly challenging for MWF, especially for our advocacy team. We have faced an unprecedented series of actions that threaten the long-standing tradition of licensed hunting and fishing in Manitoba, including arbitrary reductions to big game licenses, the establishment of regulatory zones that exclude licensed hunters, and illegal blockades that limit access to public lands for hunters and anglers.
In response, MWF has been compelled to defend these rights through the courts, alongside a strong and coordinated communications and advocacy campaign. This work has included town hall meetings, letter-writing initiatives, briefings with elected officials, the production of educational and informational videos, and an expanded presence across both traditional and social media platforms. These efforts have been critical in informing the public, engaging stakeholders, and standing up for licensed hunters and anglers.
Despite these challenges, MWF has continued to deliver essential outdoor education and conservation programs, providing hands-on training opportunities and learning experiences for new and experienced outdoor enthusiasts alike through a wide range of programming across the province.
To help keep our members informed and engaged, we are pleased to share MWF’s Annual Year in Review We hope it serves as a valuable resource as you reflect on the year behind us and look ahead to the year to come.
Thank you once again for your commitment and support. We look forward to continuing our work together and building on this year’s progress in the year ahead.
Sincerely,
The MWF Staff and Board of Directors
