A UNIFIED VOICE IN OPPOSITION TO FEDERAL FIREARMS REGULATIONS – TAKE ACTION NOW!

The Manitoba Wildlife Federation recently participated in a virtual town hall meeting with the Honorable Members of Parliament, James Bezan, Bob Zimmer, and Blaine Calkins. Our elected officials did a great job answering questions related to the Federal Liberal’s recent Order in Council, that has prohibited 1500 previously legal firearms.

The consensus from the meeting is that all firearm owners need to speak with a unified voice if we want to be heard. The MWF has been opposed and will continue to be opposed, to any further restrictions on law abiding firearm owners. We believe all levels of government need to address the root causes of crime and stop the flow of illegal firearms crossing the border. Canadian firearm owners are responsible, educated and abide by the law to legally and properly own and operate firearms. Penalizing them will not solve, or address the real issues facing Canadians. Legal firearm owners are in fact responsible for less than 0.6 percent of all firearm related crimes.

We need to collaborate our efforts and take a stance against these new regulations together. As an independent firearms owner you can also take-action by contacting your local Members of Parliament, the Public Safety Minister Bill Blair, and or our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.  For your convenience we have provided their contact information below. No postage is required for mail going to the House of Commons.

The MWF has also drafted a form letter that you can simply download, print, sign and send.
