A Survey About Newly Prohibited Firearms in Canada

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters has generated a national survey to help tell the true story of how the newly prohibited firearms were used in Canada.  OFAH has made this survey available to all members under the National Fishing and Hunting Collaborative (NFHC) to distribute to their membership.

Since the federal government announced sweeping changes to firearms classifications on May 1, 2020, there has been plenty of misconceptions and a significant lack of understanding about how these newly prohibited firearms are used by Canadians across the country.

The OFAH and the NFHC wants to fix that and help better educate and inform the general public, political, and legal discussions related to the ban that are happening right now. Your experience with, and knowledge of these firearms, is an imperative element of this discussion. To date there has been no detailed analysis of how these newly prohibited firearms were used prior to the May 1 ban, which is why it is encouraged that you participate in the following survey.

The National Fishing and Hunting Collaborative is a group of non-partisan, non-profit fishing and hunting organizations that work collaboratively to provide national leadership on important conservation issues and a voice for more than 375,000 Canadians from coast to coast.  This collaborative committee is managed and chaired by the OFAH and MWF is part of this collaboration.  To read more on the National Fishing and Hunting Collaborative visit https://www.ofah.org/nfhc/.
