The province has made its 2020 aerial moose surveys available in a new, more user-friendly format. Aerial population surveys allow biologists to determine changes in population trend over time and evaluate changes in sex and age ratios.
Aerial moose surveys were conducted in January and February in Game Hunting Areas (GHA) 13, 13A (Porcupine Mountain), 18, 18A-C (Duck Mountain) and 26 (Pinawa/Bisset area), and a summary of the recent results is available at http://gov.mb.ca/sd/pubs/fish_wildlife/hunting/2020biggame_results.pdf.
