The Director of Wildlife Management and Regulatory Affairs for the Federal Government – Caroline Ladanowski announced the launch of the online migratory game bird hunting permit system for 2019:

“I am pleased to announce the launch of the 2019 Migratory Game Bird Hunting (MGBH) Permit (including the 2019 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation (CWHC) Stamp) on August 1, 2019.I want to wish our hunters a great hunting experience. The MGBH permit is an important data source as it provides a sampling base for estimating annually the number and species of migratory birds harvested by hunters in Canada to ensure long-term sustainability of bird populations. The permit (including the stamp) continues to be available through three means:

To purchase a permit, an applicant must provide their name, date of birth, a valid email address (if electronic), mailing and/or billing address and answer a few questions about their hunting experience. The cost of the permit (including the $8.50 for the stamp) is $17.00 plus applicable taxes.Permits are valid once they have been signed. Funds raised from the sale of the stamp go to Wildlife Habitat Canada (WHC) for habitat conservation. More information about WHC is available at https://whc.org/. I encourage you to share this email with any of your external stakeholder contacts that may wish to purchase a MGBH permit. We also have FAQs for hunters on Environment and Climate Change Canada’s web site (www.ec.gc.ca) or we can be contacted directly at 1-800-668-6767 or Permis SCF / CWS Permit (EC) at ec.permisscf-cwspermit.ec@canada.ca. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the MGBH permit program team, colleagues across the Canadian Wildlife Service and Corporate Services and Finance Branch who were involved in the development and testing of the new e-system, and our Communications Branch. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Caroline Ladanowski (at Caroline.Ladanowski@canada.ca) who is the Wildlife Management and Regulatory Affairs Director, Souad El Ouakfaoui (at Souad.ElOuakfaoui@canada.ca) who is the Wildlife Permitting Policy and Operations Manager or Tracey Wright (at Tracey.Wright@canada.ca) who is the Head, Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permit Program.”
