Southern Manitoba Trail Ride and Camp
Intro
A soft breeze gently stirs the grass at your feet. The Manitoba sun dips low in the distance burning yellow pink on the horizon, as the Assiniboine River snakes in and out of view from your vantage point up on this ridge. It’s the calm nicker of horse hobbled just beyond the campfire that reminds you of the distance and the peace that surrounds you. Across the valley, the stillness is broken, if only for a moment, as a coyote yips his mournful cry to the moon not yet in the sky. Its the soothing calm of a guitar gently played in the coming moonlight. An escape from the everyday. A memory to last a lifetime.
Description
Spend the weekend exploring on foot and on hoof. Experience an overnight horseback excursion lead by award winning country music singer/songwriter Quinton Blair, and enjoy a guided hike exploring the scenic banks of the Assiniboine River with Vanessa Taylor.
Spend time learning animal husbandry, basic trail riding skills, and experience rustic transient camping in the woods with horses. Focus on trail etiquette, animal safety, and enjoy the cooling weather and the campfire that accompanies any such memory. Then get your hiking shoes on and spend time seeking out scenic vistas, and overlooks as the leaves along the Assiniboine begin to change colour with the coming fall. Have your phone charged and lots of storage on your camera roll.
