The Manitoba wildlife federation is excited to announce the launch of a three-part video series profiling the WMA enhancement initiative pilot projects from a unique and in-depth perspective. This three-part series takes a deep dive into the processes and impacts of these pilot projects and explains the reasoning, application and need for this program across the province.
In this third video of the series, the MWF sits down with Professor Dr. David Walker from the University of Manitoba’s Environment and Geography faculty. Dr. Walker teaches in the field of Wildlife and Geomatics and provides the MWF an insight into the effects of managing landscapes through the reintroduction of disturbance. Dr. Walker details how grasslands evolved overtime and how we can act to protect what little remaining native prairie we have left.
