On August 16th at 6:30pm join the Manitoba Fly Fishers Association (MFFA) and the Manitoba Wildlife Federation (MWF) for a beginners fly fishing event in Lockport. Stu Thompson and other members of the Manitoba Fly Fishing Association will lead the participants in teaching the basics of fly casting on dry land, once mastered the group will put their skills to the test and try fly fishing for Goldeye, Freshwater Drum, Carp and Catfish on the banks of the Red River/Floodway. All fly fishing gear will be provided. Please bring clothing appropriate for the day’s weather as well as footwear you don’t mind getting wet. Stu will also be on hand to sell and sign his book, “Tyed and True: 101 Fly Patterns Proven to Catch Fish”

A 2022 Manitoba Angling License is required, or for those acting under their Treaty Rights, your Treaty Card.
