Lake Winnipeg Continues to Make Waves at the Legislature

Why should we care about getting the fishery becoming eco-certified? Because eco-certification is the gold star for acknowledging a well-managed fishery, and the way Lake Winnipeg’s commercial fishery is managed would need to change to ensure the sustainability of the fishery. Eco-certification would force a much-needed change in fisheries management. Waterhen Lake is already eco-certified. Its commercial and angling fishery well managed and is booming.
